Super excited that the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council reached out to invite us to submit recipes for their upcoming cookbook! Being featured in their cocktail section are Emily's Chocolate Martini, Fresh Raspberry Mojito and our Jalapeño Margarita (which both use fresh ingredients from our garden of course!!!)
Gearing up for season 3...we are especially grateful to have a culinary team that's talented, creative and dedicated to producing a menu that's healthy, original and utilizes quality ingredients and practices . As first time restaurant owners, there has been (continues to be) a lot to learn!!! Watching our crew in action - being educated and guided by their professional training and passion - has opened our eyes to the huge difference between putting out food...and creating dishes. On vacation recently we enjoyed alot of great ‘fresh catch of the day’ fish...Wahoo, Grouper, Barracuda...we’d put any of it up against Chef’s flavorful lake trout from Big Stone Bay fishery in Mac City 😍 He’s bringing the dish back with a fun twist for the May 1st menu!

Our little garden’s basil grew like bushes last year....we were able to dehydrate a bunch for future use...like today! The freezing weather calls for a pot of homemade roasted tomato basil soup! Would rather have fresh, but a handful of our own dried herbs will do 😊

These tasty Smoked White Fish Stuffed Piquillo Peppers made the cut for the 2019 menu...locally sourced from Big Stone Bay Fishery Inc in Mackinac City, they're a great combination of flavors and have always been a big guest favorite :)
Looking back over some of last years special’s as we continue to tweak the 2019 menu...loved these beautiful plates, one Crudo and a Hamachi, that Chef Tim put up featuring Japanese yellowtail as well as salmon with fresh harvest ingredients 😍

We get comments all the time about how great the sound quality/control is @ the Nauti...great care went into designing our little space so we could support live music and offer a comfortable auditory experience. Studio sound board, honeycomb blinds, top of the line Bose sound equipment for the house and performances...these things off set the porcelain floors and hard walls making it enjoyable rather than sound bouncing cacophony.

Nathan Towne blew us all away last night! He is such a kind and gifted young man...many times all eyes and ears were mesmerized watching and listening to the intricacy of his playing. Just WOW.
WHEW! The extraordinary amount of time, talent and expense that it took A State Of Copper to create each of our Waterway Bar pieces is extraordinary and creates a huge amount of anxiety when we work to maintain and coat them. Hunkered down with some great Jazz playing and a Mimosa, Brian & I poured a coat of glass over one of the biggest reasons we choose to make Cheboygan our new heart & home...Northern Michigan's Inland Waterway and the Straits of Mackinac ! ((the video walk begins at Mackinac Island...travels over the large Mackinac Bridge section then on to Bois Blanc Island with a special piece just for Duncan Bay before the central showcase, an 8’ section of the Cheboygan River ... ending things with both Mullet & Burt Lake’s))
